Important Dates

Luke was ordained to the office of Elder by his dad, Christopher C. Johnson in the Oquirrh Lake 7th Ward on Sunday Feb. 22nd.

He went through the Draper, UT temple on Thursday Feb. 26th, 2015 to take out his own endowments. Mom, Dad and Grandma and Grandpa Nakaya were there.

He's now an official 'card carrying, underwear wearing' member and ready for his mission!

BUT, he's got 2 months to pass, so he's been working odd jobs and saving his money, along with spending time with buddies rock climbing and hiking in the mountains.

Happy 18th

Like it or not, we've been at the Bar M Ranch in Afton WY for the last 3 of Luke's birthdays. It's always a low key celebration with his cousin Masaru, whose bday is March 2. Luke always asks for cinnamon rolls instead of cake, so I lug the Bosch, or the bread maker up to make a double batch for everyone.

I like this shot because it has each Nakaya family's oldest grandson in it. Dru's Masaru, My Luke, Brooke's Myles, and Ryan's Ethan.

We snowmobile if there is enough snow, or just use the 4 wheelers. Shooting is also involved. It's a nice relaxing Presidents Day weekend.

This year, we had the whole fam damily, 26 of us, PLUS the 4 new dogs. Sheesh! It was crazy! Good thing the Ranch house is big!

Typhoid Drama

The only vaccination he needed was typhoid. Luke is a fainter, so after he got the shot, he fainted and fell face forward off the table *SPLAT* onto the floor. His new glasses, did the damage to his upper lip area, requiring 7 stitches in 3 different lacerations. The bruises and abrasions came from the impact. It was pretty traumatic for me, and I hope to never witness anything like that ever again.
